This week has already been a wild one for Corey Heim on the race track. The NASCAR Truck Series driver flipped in the CARS Tour. There was a heavy NASCAR presence at Caraway Speedway for the short-track race.

Corey Heim raced for 23XI Racing at Nashville Superspeedway last Sunday. While he ended up a DNF, he was in the top-15 and had an impressive showing prior to being taken out of the race.

A few days later and the poor guy is on his roof in the CARS Tour Late Model Stock race. Heim took contact from another driver on the frontstretch, was pinched against the wall, and his car began to climb.

Soon, he was on his roof and the tow truck was taking a long time to get the car flipped back over. Check out the video from FloRacing below.

The incident happened on Lap 69 at Caraway Speedway. Jacob Heafner and Corey Heim were door-to-door. Once the car started to climb the wall, it was more or less over for Heim.

After the incident, Heim was fine. A late night in the CARS Tour ended early, and the Truck Series driver was ready to just go home and rest.

Between full-time racing in the Truck Series, part-time for Sam Hunt Racing in Xfinity, and a few Cup Series starts this season, NASCAR has been busy enough for Heim. He is a young, developing driver, and he is always racing. There’s a reason why he’s seen as a top Cup prospect.

Brent Crews went on to win the race after a fiery battle with Carson Kvapil and Connor Hall. One of the best finishes you will see in any stock car race this year, including NASCAR.

Corey Heim finally taking a weekend off this season

This weekend, Corey Heim does not have a NASCAR race lined up. No Truck Series action this weekend with the Chicago Street Race. Heim won’t start in the Xfinity or Cup Series races, either.

This season, the worst finishes for Corey in the Truck Series was a P28 DNF at Darlington and a DQ at Charlotte due to loose lug nuts at the end of the race. He led the most laps in both of those races. Besides that pair of poor results, he has four wins, five top-5 finishes, and two additional top-10 finishes.

When it comes to the Truck Series championship race, Christian Eckes is the driver to beat. For now. Heim has one more win and the two drivers have been neck and neck all season long.

Corey Heim is the real deal. He had a rough go of things in the CARS Tour, but now he can rest. Then it’s back to it at Pocono as he makes the push to the postseason and Phoenix.
