The 2024 NASCAR season is going to be a busy one for Corey Heim as he announced today he has signed a deal with Legacy Motor Club. Heim is set to become the simulator and reserve driver for Legacy. He will also serve as a reserve driver for 23XI Racing.

Toyota is putting a lot behind Heim this year. He is back in the Truck Series full-time for TRICON Garage. He was the regular season champion last season and will chase his first overall championship in 2024.

Corey Heim also has starts with Sam Hunt Racing lined up in the Xfinity Series this year. On top of that, he will now be working on the simulator for Legacy Motor Club. This is a big deal and should help Heim make the transition to Cup when he is ready.

Carson Hocevar was the Trackhouse Racing reserve driver a year ago and now he’s going Cup Series racing as a rookie.

Heim announced the news late Thursday morning.

“I’m grateful to announce I’ve been signed by [Legacy Motor Club] as their simulator & reserve driver for this season and will also be the reserve driver for [23XI Racing],” Heim wrote on social media. “Can’t wait to learn from and work with all the great minds at both of these teams!”

More responsibility, more seat time, and the potential for a Cup Series start. Corey Heim is just one injury or suspension away from suiting up for Legacy or 23XI at the top of stock car racing. That is more than exciting for the young driver.

At 21 years old, this is a big deal. More opportunities await Heim in the future.

Corey Heim is ready for the next step

There isn’t much to complain about when you look at Corey Heim. He is a star in the making, and it isn’t just me saying that. Drivers like Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski have made comments about Heim and his talent, and the bright future he has ahead of him.

The one thing you can knock him for, the 2023 Truck Series championship. He gets wrecked by Hocevar after showing he was likely the fastest truck in Phoenix. Then, Heim made things worse by getting revenge late in the race, causing a series of caution flags.

It has now been regarded as potentially the worst Truck Series championship race, ever. However, you can’t doubt Heim’s talent, even if he has a little maturing left to do. Three wins in 2023, five wins in two seasons – Heim is ready to become a Truck Series champion in 2024.

I also fully expect Corey Heim to be competitive in the Xfinity Series races he runs. He was P10 at Darlington the first time around. P15 there in his second run at the track in the Xfinity Series. With Sam Hunt Racing, Heim will have a chance to run top-10, top-5 and maybe even compete for a win or two.

Will we see Heim suit up in the Cup Series at some point in 2024?
