Corey Heim signs developmental deal with 23XI Racing

Corey Heim, one of NASCAR‘s top prospects, has signed a multiyear developmental deal with 23XI Racing.
Heim, 22, will drive the No. 67 Toyota in select Cup Series races in 2025 with Bootie Barker serving as his crew chief. His first start will come May 11 at Kansas. Heim will also compete in multiple Xfinity Series races with Sam Hunt Racing in a Toyota supported by 23XI. His first start with SHR will be March 1 at COTA.
23XI made the news official just hours ahead of Sunday’s Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta.
“It’s a dream come true to be a part of 23XI, and I’m excited for the opportunity to race more Cup and Xfinity races this year,” Heim said. “I’m blessed to have the chance to compete in all three series as I continue to set my sights on full-time Cup racing when that time comes. The success that 23XI has shown in only a few short years has been impressive and I’m excited to learn from the organization.
“I’m also grateful to everyone at Toyota for their ongoing support in my development both on and off the track, and I look forward to strengthening that relationship for years to come.”

Corey Heim becomes first developmental driver in 23XI Racing history
Heim currently competes full-time in the Truck Series, piloting the No. 11 Tundra for Tricon Garage. He finished second in the points standings last season and took the checkered flag in this past weekend’s season opener at Daytona.
Heim made three starts last season at the Cup level with 23XI and Legacy Motor Club. He finished 25th, 22nd and 29th at Dover, Kansas and Nashville, respectively. Heim has 17 starts under his belt in Xfinity, finishing a career best third at Iowa last season.
“Our team was fortunate to work with Corey last year and we look forward to growing our relationship with him as our development driver starting in 2025,” 23XI president Steve Lauletta said. “Corey continues to prove he is a talented, hard-working driver, and we plan to make all the resources of 23XI available to support his development within the Toyota family as he progresses in NASCAR.”
23XI co-owner Denny Hamlin is pleased to have Heim on board.
“Welcome to the team @CoreyHeim_,” Hamlin wrote on X.
