Corey Heim to race partial schedule in NASCAR Xfinity Series
Corey Heim has been tabbed to drive a partial schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2024.
The impressive NASCAR Truck Series wheelman will be behind the wheel for Sam Hunt Racing next season. The team made the announcement on Wednesday, but haven’t announced just which tracks Heim will be racing at yet.
Still, excitement is growing for Heim to show his stuff in the Xfinity Series, as he’s proven to have immense potential so far throughout his NASCAR career.
“Bringing Heim Time into 2024,” Sam Hunt Racing posted on X. “@CoreyHeim_ will join us for a partial schedule in the @NASCAR_Xfinity Series starting at @LVMotorSpdwy! Heim’s full race schedule will be announced at a later time.”
The last time the NASCAR world saw Heim was when he and Carson Hocevar were battling for a Truck Series title. However, neither one of them walked away victorious as they let poor decisions get in their way.
It would have been a really fun race to see the two battle it out back at Phoenix, but we didn’t get that, and drama and controversy ruled the night afterwards.
In the end, Ben Rhodes limped to the championship after multiple restarts. And kudos to him, he could have given it up or let the multiple late restarts be the end of his night – he didn’t. Rhodes did what he had to do and earned that championship through attrition.

Still, it is a shame that Corey Heim and his retaliation against Hocevar took the championship from Grant Enfinger, who would’ve been crowned if not for the drama involving the two young racers. It was like multiple drivers had the trophy in their sights and all had it ripped away from them.
Nevertheless, Heim was insanely consistent in the Truck Series during the 2023 campaign. In fact, he’ll likely be the favorite to win the title come next season.
As he continues to look at dominating the Truck Series, Heim will look to cut his teeth at the Xfinity level as well in 2024. If he can prove his mettle, he could be fast-tracked to the Cup Series in the near future, but he can’t have an outburst like he did in 2023.
Time will tell, but it’s exciting news nonetheless that Corey Heim will be running with Sam Hunt Racing in 2024. The future is bright for the man who came oh so very close to capturing the Truck Series title last season.
