A huge wreck in Stage 3 at Pocono Raceway as Corey LaJoie hooked Kyle Busch and sent him into the field of Cup cars. This is the biggest wreck of the 400-mile NASCAR race today and sets us up for an interesting finish.

Usually after causing a big wreck like this, a driver and team would be apologetic. However, Corey LaJoie and his crew were not so remorseful. In fact, they think Kyle Busch got what he deserved.

“He hooked himself,” someone could be heard on LaJoie’s radio, via Toby Christie.

“F*** him,” another team member said, “we ain’t worried about him. We’re worried about ourselves.”

Crew chief Ryan Sparks said that Busch got what he deserved.

Here is what that wreck looked like.

Kyle Busch now has five DNFs in the last seven races. This 8 team has yet to find rock bottom. At this point, they can’t really do much of anything. Just show up the next week and hope that things work out.

Now, I don’t know what Busch did to Corey LaJoie on the track. Whatever it was, it made LaJoie frustrated enough to drive into the back of Busch and for his crew to call Rowdy out like that.

Besides a P4 finish at Daytona, LaJoie has a season-best finish of P11 at Sonoma. He has only one top-20 finish in the last four races of the season. Perhaps frustration over his own performances caused him to drive into Busch after the big block from the 8 car.

Kyle Busch reacts to Corey LaJoie wreck

Despite being wrecked out of the race, Kyle Busch did not have much of a reaction afterward. When he left the care center, Busch kept his cool and made sure to focus on what he needed to focus on.

“Nah, I just want to thank all of our partners and everybody that’s been behind our program at RCR, ECR Engines, obviously Zone nicotine pouches and Cheddar’s, Lucas Oil, everybody for their support and continuing to back us and be behind us, and of course the fans and Rowdy Nation as well, too,” Kyle Busch said.

Did he have anything to say to Corey, is he going to call him?

“Nah,” he said simply.

Corey LaJoie has had a rough year. Kyle Busch has had a rough one as well. I think Busch is awaiting to get to Phoenix so this season can finally be over. It would not shock me if there was some kind of break between Busch and RCR in the offseason, even with a contract in place.

The hits keep coming and they just don’t stop. Steering issues in practice, leaking oil prerace, and then no speed in the car whatsoever. Finally, a DNF on the day.
