The Dallas Cowboys head coaching search continues heading into the divisional round weekend of the NFL playoffs. However, NFL insider Jeremy Fowler revealed the three names he believes are most likely to be considered: Kellen Moore, Robert Saleh and Leslie Frazier.

Moore, a former Cowboys OC, intereviewed with Jerry Jones and the Dallas brass on Friday, while an interview with Saleh, the former head coach of the New York Jets, is scheduled to meet with the Cowboys on Saturday. Frazier, the assistant head coach of the Seattle Seahawks and former head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, will interview with the franchise on Monday.

“A familiar face,” Fowler said of Kellen Moore during a segment of ‘Fowler Files’ on SportsCenter Saturday morning. “The former offensive coordinator in Dallas, knows the system well, knows Dak Prescott, but he is certainly a prime candidate in this mix.”

The other two don’t benefit from having a previous working relationship with Jerry Jones and the Cowboys, but Fowler believes they are the prime candidates entering the weekend.

One obvious name omitted from Fowler’s list — Deion Sanders. When news broke that Coach Prime and Jones had informal discussions about Dallas’ head coaching vacancy, many were intrigued at the possibility of him coaching the team he won a Super Bowl for in the 1990s. However, Fowler’s latest report on the situation may end up dissapointing more than a few fans.

“I talked to somebody with the team, they said they have no formal requests out [to interview any more coaches], including with Colorado,” Fowler said. “They haven’t formally requested to speak with Deion Sanders. We do know he’s a candidate, that there is a level of mutual interest. People I talked to with the team wouldn’t consider him the favorite right now. That it’s something that’s expected, but he is in the mix.”

According to Fowler, the Cowboys also have interest in Detroit Lions DC Aaron Glenn, but will have to wait to interview him.

This is not only because the Lions are still focused on their playoff push, but because Dallas took an extra week to fire former HC Mike McCarthey, they missed out on the window to interview potential coaching candidates like Glenn, along with Lions OC Ben Johnson and Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo, who were on their bye in the first round of the playoffs.
