The Dallas Cowboys family has grown yet again. Starting right guard Zack Martin took to social media this week to announce the birth of his new baby boy named Hudson Gage Martin. Though Martin’s wife Morgan gave birth on February 20, the family revealed that the baby spent 10 days in the neonatal intensive care unit at Medical City Plano.

They announced this week that the baby is now home, joining his parents and his big brother and sister.

“Arrived fast and furious on Feb 20th,” the Martins shared. “With a complicated delivery and a ten night stay in the Nicu we finally have him home and we’re a family of 5. We want to thank our village of friends and family rushing to our side to help with Charlie and Remi, sending meals, and just being the absolute best support system!

“We also want to thank the labor and delivery nurses, doctors, and NICU nurses at Medical City Plano for their quick action after delivery that saved our sweet Hudson’s life! It’s been a crazy 10 days but we’re glad that is all behind us! Time to finally enjoy our sweet Hudsy boy!”

Coincidentally, Martin’s quarterback Dak Prescott and his girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos welcomed their first baby just two days after Hudson arrived. Margaret Jane Rose Prescott weighed in at 8 pounds, 10 ounces while Hudson weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces.

Cowboys restructure Zack Martin’s contract

The Dallas Cowboys and All-Pro right guard Zack Martin agreed to a contract restructure earlier this month that cleared roughly $13 million in cap space for the team in 2024, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. Martin could still be headed for a major extension this offseason after negotiations for a bigger deal pushed into training camp last year. If they don’t extend his contract, he’s set to become a free agent in 2025.

By converting the bulk of Martin’s salary into a signing bonus, the Cowboys can now say they are in the green in cap space for the 2024 season. They also re-worked Dak Prescott’s contract to clear another $4 million.

Martin earned his seventh First-Team All-Pro honor this season after starting 15 of 15 games played. He missed time due to an ankle injury early in the year. He also has two more All-Pro second-team honors on his resume, making him one of the most decorated players in Cowboys history.
