The Dallas Cowboys are interviewing Arizona Cardinals offensive line coach Klayton Adams for their offensive coordinator job in-person Friday at The Star, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Adams, 41, is the favorite to land the position, previously occupied by newly hired Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer. Adams has spent the last two seasons in Arizona, coming over after a four-year tenure with the Indianapolis Colts as assistant offensive line coach and tight ends coach.

Before making the jump to the NFL, the former Boise State player spent 14 seasons working at the collegiate level. Adams notably served as Colorado‘s co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach in 2018.

Schottenheimer, formally introduced as Dallas’ new head coach Monday, has been hard at work in assembling his staff. Thus far, the organization has hired Matt Eberflus as defensive coordinator, Dave Borgonzi as linebackers coach, Aaron Whitecotton as defensive line coach and Andre Curtis as defensive passing game coordinator. Lunda Wells has agreed to a new deal to return next season as the team’s tight ends coach, a role he’s held since 2020.

The Cowboys are prioritizing a combination of continuity and change, as evident by Schottenheimer’s initial coaching hires.

“We want continuity, but we also want change,” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said this week. “And obviously what we’ve done hadn’t gotten the job done. We accept that. We accept that our fans can have frustration that we hadn’t gotten that job done. And you can’t keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect something to change.”

“We need to change, but at the same time, we’ve got a lot of things right. And so, there’s a lot of continuity we want to keep as well. So, the combination of continuity but also change is why Coach Schottenheimer is our coach.”
