WATCH: Cowboys kicker Brett Maher has extra point attempt blocked versus 49ers
The Dallas Cowboys stuck by kicker Brett Maher following his four missed extra point attempts versus the Buccaneers because it didn’t impact the outcome of the game, but the decision has already come back to bite them versus the 49ers.
Following Dak Prescott‘s first touchdown pass of the night to tight end Dalton Schultz, Maher had his first extra point kick of the game blocked by San Francisco’s Samson Ebukam.
The kick appeared to take off to the left regardless, but Ebukam made sure that it didn’t find its target in the back of the net. Maher has now missed six of his last seven extra point attempts.
Prior to the game, Maher, along with the other members of the kicking unit, wound up in a skirmish after 49ers players got in the way of the kicker taking his practice swings.
