Cowboys' NFC East title extends impressive NFL-leading streak
By winning the NFC East title on Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys continued the NFL’s longest-running divisional streak. The NFC East hasn’t posted back-to-back divisional title winners since the Eagles won it three years running from 2002-04.
Since the streak of one-time winners began, the Giants have won three times, the Philadelphia Eagles have won six times, Washington has won three times and the Cowboys have won seven times.
Dallas took down the Commanders on Sunday 38-10, behind a 279-yard performance from quarterback Dak Prescott. By getting the win, Prescott joined Troy Aikman as the only quarterbacks in franchise history to win four divisional titles.
The Pro Bowl quarterback is more than ready to lead his team back into the playoffs after an early exit last year.
“Very ready,” Prescott said post-game. “Coming off of the past years, understanding the team that we have, knowing that coming into this season that we had a team that could compete, and we wanted to put ourselves in this position, and to stay in the moment each and every moment and not look forward to this. But, now, it’s upon us, and we’ve got to take it one game at a time — with the same attitude that we came into this game with; and the same attitude that we’ve taken in every home approach.
“… Tomorrow’s not promised, in that sense. … We’ve gotta make sure we give everything we can, in each and every moment.”
