Cowboys place CeeDee Lamb on Reserve/Did Not Report list, Sam Williams on IR
The Dallas Cowboys have placed receiver CeeDee Lamb on the reserve/did not report list, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Additionally, they have put defensive end Sam Williams on injured reserve.
Lamb is currently holding out of training camp in hopes of acquiring a new contract. He is set to enter the final year of his deal with the team and will make a base salary of $17.9 million in 2024.
The three-time Pro Bowler is coming off of a career-best season in which he led the NFL with 135 receptions. He was second in the league with 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns.
If Lamb signs an extension, he could get over $32 million annually with $100 million guaranteed according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson recently signed a a four-year extension worth $140 million with $110 million guaranteed. He and Lamb were both drafted in 2020.
Williams suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee this past month and will be out for the entire 2024 season. The former second-round draft pick out of Ole Miss was expected to take on a larger role as he prepared to enter his third pro season. He totaled 8.5 sacks across his first two seasons while coming off the bench.
Both moves will allow the Cowboys additional roster space to bring in a couple of new signees during training camp.

Adam Schefter: CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys ‘still are at an impasse’ in contract talks
The star wide receiver is holding out for a new contract, taking a $40,000 fine per day he’s absent. Negotiations continue as the rest of the team goes through camp, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter said there still isn’t much movement between the two sides.
As far as what could be holding up a new deal, Schefter said the Cowboys are still determining the value for Lamb’s contract. While the expectation is something will come together, there’s still a long way to go.
“[Lamb is] still not in camp for the Dallas Cowboys,” Schefter said on SportsCenter Wednesday evening. “The two sides still are at an impasse over the value that CeeDee Lamb would bring to Dallas this upcoming season. It should not be a hard contract to figure out.
“Most people around the league believe the two sides will eventually be able to figure out a way to get a contract done to get CeeDee Lamb back into training camp. But he still is not there and the sides still do not appear to be close.”
