Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott addressed lingering injury concerns on Tuesday at his youth football camp after he was spotted wearing a walking boot while on vacation in Mexico last weekend. Prescott told reporters that there’s “absolutely nothing” wrong with his ankle.

He claimed he experienced soreness in his right ankle, which was surgically repaired following his gruesome 2020 injury. The veteran explained that he wore the walking boot as a precaution while he was on vacation after two hard workouts caused soreness.

Reports last week suggested that Prescott received an MRI, though the Cowboys did not confirm that. Another report also indicated that he had an “ankle sprain,” but that also wasn’t confirmed by the team or the player himself.

This week, the star QB was spotted attending and dancing at the wedding of former Dallas left tackle Tyron Smith, who is now with the Jets. The Cowboys players still have a couple of weeks left before they must report to Oxnard, California for training camp, and it appears Prescott is ready to go despite the sudden injury concerns.

The former Mississippi State standout is entering the final year of his contract with Dallas. The 2024 season will be his ninth in the league. He ended last season with the most passing touchdowns (36) among all starting quarterbacks while going 12-5 in the regular season. He posted a completion rate of 69.5%, which was a career-high mark.

Prescott, Cowboys to report to camp in three weeks

Based on photos posted on their social media pages, Prescott and his girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos are living up the offseason as best they can before the quarterback locks in for the 2024 season. The couple welcomed a baby girl to the family in February.

The Cowboys will depart from Dallas for Oxnard on July 22-23 and camp will not wrap up until August 22. During that time, they’ll hold team practices, joint practices, a scrimmage and three preseason games, including two on the road.

The day for both veterans and rookies to report to camp is July 24. Undoubtedly, the team will be anxiously waiting to see whether No. 1 wide receiver CeeDee Lamb opts to join them or hold out for his blockbuster contract extension. Last year, right guard Zack Martin staged a holdout until the team restructured his contract.
