EA Sports wrapped up a week of reveals on Friday with the highest-rated quarterbacks in Madden NFL 25, led by Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes. The list features the best and highest-paid players in the league, including Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

The former fourth-rounder has a Madden rating of 90 ahead of the 2024 season, which will be his ninth in the league. He comes in at No. 5 among his peers behind Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow and Josh Allen.

Compared to the Madden NFL 24 ratings, Prescott’s has increased. The game awarded him a rating three points higher than last year (87), and above two quarterbacks who had better ratings than him last year. He beat out Jalen Hurts and Justin Herbert after finishing first in the NFL in passing touchdowns with 36.

During the 2023 season, Prescott threw for 4,516 yards while rushing for another 242. He played in all 17 games one year after missing five. The former Mississippi State star also posted the best completion percentage of his career so far at 69.5%. He also improved his stats on interceptions. Prescott threw 15 during the 2022 season and received copious criticism, but reduced it to nine in 2023.

Madden NFL 25 Top-10 Quarterback Rankings

  1. Patrick Mahomes, 99 – Kansas City Chiefs
  2. Lamar Jackson, 98 – Baltimore Ravens
  3. Joe Burrow, 93 – Cincinnati Bengals
  4. Josh Allen, 92 – Buffalo Bills
  5. Dak Prescott, 90 – Dallas Cowboys
  6. Tua Tagovailoa, 88 – Miami Dolphins
  7. Justin Herbert, 87 – Los Angeles Chargers
  8. Jalen Hurts, 86 – Philadelphia Eagles
  9. Brock Purdy, 85 – San Francisco 49ers
  10. Kirk Cousins, 84 – Atlanta Falcons

Compared to last year’s Madden ratings, this year’s rankings feature the bulk of the same players. However, after tearing his Achilles one week into the season, Jets star Aaron Rodgers is no longer in the top 10. Taking his place was Brock Purdy, who edged out Kirk Cousins for the No. 9 spot. Despite suffering the same injury, the Madden raters appear to favor Cousins over Rodgers in 2024.

The other big movement this year comes from Tua Tagovailoa. After leading the league in passing yards with the Dolphins, Tagovailoa jumped Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts, Kirk Cousins, and Aaron Rodgers to land at No. 6 behind Prescott.

There are just five players who received perfect 99 ratings ahead of the 2024 season, including Patrick Mahomes. The other four are Christian McCaffrey, who graces this year’s game cover, Travis Kelce, Trent Brown and Tyreek Hill.
