The Dallas Cowboys have released their first unofficial depth chart of the 2023 season — five days ahead of the preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

While there aren’t too many surprises and this is just the first depth chart of what is sure to change by the start of the regular season, a couple of things are of note. The battle for backup duties to running back Tony Pollard appears to be taking shape, with Rico Dowdle slotted second in line. Dowdle remains ahead of Malik Davis, the suspended Ronald Jones and Deuce Vaughn — the sixth-round pick out of April’s NFL Draft.

Elsewhere, a kicker has been decided — for now that is. Following the release of Tristan Vizcaino Monday, Brandon Aubrey is Dallas’ lone remaining option. Aubrey converted 14-of-15 field goal attempts while kicking for the USFL’s Birmingham Stallions in 2023.
