Dallas Cowboys safety Jayron Kearse exited the field in the second half of the wild card game versus Tampa Bay as his squad led 24-0 with minutes left to play in the third quarter. Kearse was one of six captains for Dallas on Monday night, joining Dak Prescott and Zack Martin, among others.

The safety out of Clemson had one of the biggest plays of the game prior to his knee injury. He picked off Tom Brady in the end zone, cutting off the Bucs’ first real shot at points in the first half.

Kearse has often left the field for a play or two this season but typically returned quickly. This time, the seventh-year veteran is questionable to return and the Bucs capitalized with their first score of the game. After a failed two-point conversion, Dallas holds the lead at 24-6.

Kearse exited the medical tent and was able to get on the exercise bike on the sideline despite the Cowboys announcing that he is questionable to return.

The Cowboys had an injury scare just ahead of the half as Micah Parsons limped off the field and into the locker room. He managed to make it back on the field for the second half, however.

Cowboys reshuffle OL as Jason Peters exits

The Dallas Cowboys ruled out starting offensive lineman Jason Peters for the remainder of Monday’s playoff game with a hip injury.

Peters, who started the game at left tackle, has been replaced by Tyler Smith. Smith moved over from the left guard position with Connor McGovern filling in at the spot.

The 40-year-old lineman suffered the injury in the second quarter, tapped his helmet and left the game at that time.
