The NFL offseason drama continued this week with the arrest of new Chicago Bears receiver Byron Pringle. The former Chiefs starter wound up under arrest after Florida Highway Patrol caught him allegedly doing doughnuts in his car, according to a TMZ report.

Police said Pringle had a child in the car with him and he was driving with a suspended license.

Pringle was driving an Orange 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat around 6 PM in Pasco County. An officer reported witnessing the car burning rubber and doing donuts on a public road. The report also says the child in the vehicle was Pringle’s own son.

The authorities held the NFL pro for reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.

Byron Pringle is going into his fourth season in the league after going undrafted out of Kansas State. He played three seasons for Kansas City, totaling 898 yards, seven touchdowns and 67 receptions in 46 games. The 2021 season was his most productive in the redzone. He posted five touchdowns.

The 28-year-old signed a one year, $4,125,000 deal with the Chicago Bears, which included $3.9 million guaranteed.

Pringle, a Tampa, Florida, native, started his collegiate career at Butler Community College before moving on to Kansas State. He put his name in the record books with more than 2,000 all-purpose yards and two kickoff-return touchdowns.

NFL poised to make historic schedule change in 2022

Christmas Day has always been the premier regular-season event for the NBA, having multiple games spread throughout the day. The NFL is trying to change that, hosting games on the holiday for the last few seasons. Now, they are set to make a historic schedule change for the 2022 season.

With Christmas Day falling on a Sunday this year, the NFL will have a triple header for fans across the country to watch, according to a report. NFL V.P. of broadcasting Mike North told Sal Capaccio of WGR in Buffalo the plan is to have one on each of the league’s broadcasting partner’s airwaves, concluding with the normal Sunday Night Football broadcast on NBC.

“We’ll play one game on CBS in the afternoon, one game on Fox in the afternoon, and our regular Sunday night game on NBC,” North said. “Christmas, when it falls on an NFL game day, we’ve had a lot of success there, all due respect to our friends at the NBA.”

The majority of games for the week will be played on Saturday, Dec. 24 with a nightcap taking place on NFL Network.
