The CW is considering having its NASCAR booth call a few races next year from the NASCAR Studios in North Carolina, according to Adam Stern of the Sports Business Journal. The network owned by Nexstar Media Group currently airs Xfinity Series playoff races after Fox and NBC shared coverage from 2015 through this year.

Stern said The CW and NASCAR are currently discussing how many races will be called remotely from NASCAR Studios which opened late last year outside Charlotte. There will be some races called from the track, but one source told Stern the sides are still hashing out specifics.

But even with The CW booth called races remotely, the network will have people at the track such as production members and pit reporters. The move comes as more media networks have been using remote broadcasts frequently since the pandemic in 2020.

The CW will air NASCAR Xfinity Series races for seven years

The CW recently signed a seven-year contract to air the full season of the Xfinity Series. The $115 million-per-year deal was set to start in 2025, but The CW got a head start because NBC Sports agreed to let it air the final eight races.
