D.C. plane crash: Bubba Wallace sends heartfelt message after tragic accident

Following the horrible plane crash in Washington D.C. many are reflecting on the tragedy, including Bubba Wallace. The NASCAR star sent out a heartfelt message on his social media today.
The American Airlines flight had 60 passengers and four crew members on board last night. As the plane was attempting to land at Ronald Reagan National Airport, it collided with a Black Hawk helicopter.
Bubba Wallace had a few words to say about the tragic accident as he prepares for the Clash at Bowman Gray this weekend.
“Been thinking about the tragedy in DC all night and morning,” Wallace wrote on X/Twitter. “So sad! Enjoy the small things, love hard, laugh loud! Never know when it can be your last. Sending all the love their way!”
Since the horrific incident, there have been few updates. Unfortunately, U.S. Figure Skating has confirmed that members of the figuring skating community were aboard the flight. They were returning from the National Development Camp as part of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Witchita, Kansas.
This accident has shaken the D.C. community and the nation. Crews were looking late into the night for survivors. As of now, 27 bodies have been recovered from the plane while one body from the helicopter has been found. Recovery operations are ongoing.

Bubba Wallace, NASCAR stars return to Bowman Gray
This weekend the NASCAR Cup Series season kicks off at Bowman Gray Stadium. The Clash will be a fun exhibition on one of the nation’s most historic short tracks. Bubba Wallace and a few others have raced at the track before.
Chase Elliott, Corey LaJoie, Kyle Larson, Daniel Suárez, and Wallace all raced at the Madhouse in their K&N days. Then again, that was about 13 years ago. A lot has changed since then, but that group of drivers remains in the sport.
Bowman Gray Stadium will be a great stage for the season opener. It won’t have the high speed of Daytona, but the beating and banging on the track and the raucous crowd will bring a different kind of ambiance to the race.
Bubba Wallace and a number of NASCAR stars are returning to Bowman Gray Stadium this weekend. Cars have already been dropped off at Charlotte Motor Speedway and are going through their first inspections. There will be many surprises this weekend. 39 cars are entered for only 23 spots in Sunday’s feature. There will be a number of teams going home feeling disappointed.
