Dak Prescott is ready for the new NFL season to begin. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback couldn’t contain his excitement for the first game of the year during his pre-game interview ahead of a Sunday Night Football showdown against the New York Giants.

Prescott and the Cowboys are hoping to make a Super Bowl run this season. First, though, Dallas wants to take care of business in the opening game. The quarterback didn’t back away from the pressure that comes with playing on such a big stage in Week 1.

“Just us guys staying together,” Prescott said, when asked what it would take to win Sunday night. “This is the NFC East, this is what it’s about. Great environment, Sunday Night Football. Excited for this opportunity.”

Prescott was also asked about some of the major changes the Cowboys endured since last season. Among those are significant alterations to the coaching staff, including head coach Mike McCarthy taking over play-calling duties.

The team also moved on from Pro Bowl running back Ezekiel Elliott. But Prescott said the team is ready to do whatever it takes to put tallies in the win column this year.

“We’re gonna win, simple as that. Whatever we gotta do to get the job done, we’re gonna get it done,” Prescott said. “We’re ready. As I said, we’re gonna do whatever it takes to win. We’ve got the guys. We’ve had a great offseason, great training camp, now it’s time to go.”

Dallas posted 12-5 records in back-to-back regular seasons in 2021 and 2022. However, disappointing postseason runs forced the organization to make some serious changes.

With the season finally here, we’ll find out if the Cowboys have what it takes to make a run at a Super Bowl.

Jerry Jones voices confidence in Dak Prescott

After a short run in last year’s playoffs, fans have been critical of Prescott. But team owner Jerry Jones has voiced a lot of confidence in his veteran quarterback.

In training camp, Jones said Prescott is more than capable of leading Dallas to a championship.

“Frankly, we’re disappointed we haven’t been knocking at the door of a Super Bowl with Dak before now,” Jones said. “So, certainly he’s very capable and is capable for years — as far as age as concerned — for competing for a Super Bowl.”

Perhaps this is the year Dallas finally puts all the pieces together and gets back to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1995.
