Not to overstate the obvious here, but Dak Prescott is not a huge fan of losing. So when the Cowboys wound up on the wrong side of a 28-16 decision against the Cardinals, the quarterback wasn’t overly thrilled after the game.

Ahead of this week’s game against the Patriots, Prescott was asked about his emotions of Dallas suffered its first loss of the season. As you might imagine, he was not too thrilled with the result.

“Yeah, I was pissed off. I’m always pissed off after a loss. I don’t know if we can rate my pissed-off-ness,” Prescott said, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. “But yeah, real pissed off.”

It was probably especially frustrating considering how well Dallas played through the first two games. The Cowboys defeated the Giants 40-0 in Week 1 and followed it up with a 30-10 victory over the Jets a week later.

Plus, Arizona entered that contest 0-2.

Prescott finished the game completing 25-of-40 passes for 249 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also totaled 24 yards on three carries.

The best part about the NFL? Dallas only has to sit in the loss for a week. The Cowboys get a chance to get back in the win column Sunday, hosting the Patriots.

Dak Prescott talks with Ezekiel Elliott before matchup

Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott played together for seven seasons, both members of Dallas’ 2016 NFL Draft class. But in the offseason, the Cowboys released the running back, allowing him to sign with another team.

Zeke returns to AT&T Stadium on Sunday, this time wearing a New England jersey. And before this weekend’s meeting, Prescott had the chance to talk with his former teammate and friend.

“Probably the first time we’ve talked on the phone for that long in a while. His spirits are great,” Prescott said, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. “He’s excited. It’ll be good to see him. … I’m happy for him. Always pulling for him. He’s doing well. I’m excited for him.”

Through three games, Elliott has carried the ball 28 times for 122 yards for New England. During the offseason, the Cowboys released the running back.

Reporters then asked Prescott to relive some of his favorite memories of Elliott in a Cowboys uniform. The quarterback had one specific moment in mind.

“Probably him jumping over guys. Just clearing them and not changing his stride. One of the greatest plays that’s never gonna be shown fully is him jumping over the guy in Philly and then tripping over his own feet,” Prescott said. “I’ll never forget it. If he would’ve scored, it would live forever. But because he didn’t score it’s just something we can laugh and talk about it.”
