Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been holding a camp for children every year since his draft year in 2016. He held his most recent youth camp this past Saturday in Frisco, Texas.
The opportunity to be around children and give back to the community in such a manner is something that will never get old.
“It’s always a blessing just to be out here camp season,” Prescott said at a press conference during the event. “This year, only one day where we normally do two or combine it. But just feeling the excitement. Having teammates come out to just help support. Understanding everybody that’s put their time into this. All the parents that brought their kids out. It’s special. This is the part of being a quarterback, being in this position that never ever, ever, ever will get old being able to just impact the youth and have fun on a day like today.”

But even as he continues in his NFL journey, Prescott says he loves the time he gets to spend with the kids at the camp.
“When I come to this, I’m using this as a workout day and trying to make sure that I really just truly interact with each kid,” Prescott said. “It’s the game of football. I love it. I’ve loved this game since I was their age and love it the same way, about to turn 30. I just think when you’re out here, having these different ages, you see what this game means. So it’s just fun, as I said, giving back and I just like to interact and play the game.”

Prescott was drafted in 2016 by the Cowboys in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. Barring the games he has been injured, he has started every game for Dallas since that rookie season.
His record as a starter is 61-36 but has only two playoff wins during his time with the team as the Cowboys have become perpetual underachievers in the postseason.
During the 2022 season, he was 8-4 in 12 starts with a 2,860 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, 15 interceptions and a 66.2% completion percentage.
He led the Cowboys to a victory over Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card round.
