Fans knew he was coming to race Bristol, but Dale Earnhardt Jr. is set to race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Homestead-Miami. The semi-retired race car driver has big plans for later this season. Driving his JR Motorsports No. 88, Earnhardt now has two Xfinity Series starts lined up for later this season.

With all that he has going on, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is pretty busy. Between being a team owner with JR Motorsports, co-owner of the CARS Tour, all his Dirty Mo Media stuff, NBC coverage – it’s a wonder how he finds the time.

However he is able to do it, we thank him. There is just something about having that No. 88 out there with Dale Jr. behind the wheel. Even if he runs 25th the entire race, fans will be more than happy to watch.

Bass Pro Shops are teaming up to sponsor Dale Earnhardt Jr. for the race.

In case you wanted to see Dale’s Miami ride, we’ve got that covered as well. This No. 88 is going to look awesome out on the track in South Florida. Bass Pro is always bringing great schemes to the sport and helping grow the sport as well.

This is a really great scheme.

So, what can we expect out of Dale Earnhardt Jr. this season on the track? It’s hard to say when he races so few times. However, we might see an impressive showing, regardless.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. could do well at Homestead-Miami

With two starts scheduled this season, it will be the most Dale Jr. has raced in the Xfinity Series since 2017. That was the last time he raced twice in one season. Since then, he has stuck to just one race a year between 2018-2022. In those five starts, he has performed really well.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has finishes of P4, P5, P5, P14, and P11 in those starts. That last top-5 finish happened to come at Homestead-Miami, too. Drivers aren’t usually able to come in without much work on the season and compete for a win. Dale Jr. is mostly out there for a bit of fun, but he will have a shot at a top-10 finish.

History tells us to expect a top-10 result. But more recent history tells us that Dale Jr. might be slipping a little bit. When you only race in the Xfinity Series a couple of times a year, that happens, no shame in that at all.

No matter what, we do know we’re going to get a full effort out of Dale Earnhardt Jr. He’s simply too professional to not put his all into the race. Bristol and Homestead-Miami are the places to watch Dale Jr. race in NASCAR this season.
