Dale Earnhardt Jr. is ready for NASCAR fans to see the new documentary series about his father, Dale Earnhardt Sr., which will stream on Amazon’s Prime Video. On Dale Jr. Download, Earnhardt Jr. revealed he’s seen the entire four-part documentary and got a little emotional while talking about it.

“It’s something. I’ll just say that,” Earnhardt said. “There’s really only one great Dale Earnhardt documentary that in my mind that has ever been made, and that’s the Dale documentary. For anybody that wanted to know anything about Dale Earnhardt, the Dale doc was the one that I would hand to them and say don’t watch anything else. Nothing else compares. This right here is what you need to know about everything.

“This goes a little bit deeper. This goes way deeper. This might take you as far as you’ve ever been into what it would be like to actually have been in the same room with the guy, lived with him, been his son. I mean, it’s real personal. It gets into who he was as a human being. A lot of things have always really celebrated the shell, the man in Black, the stats, the championships, the wins, the success, the whole persona. That’s what the Dale doc does to the fullest. It celebrates how badass of a racecar driver this guy was.

Earnhardt continued, “But this documentary that we’re doing with the folks on Prime is much more personal. Several parts of it was really hard to watch. I don’t want to say too much, but I’m really anxious to see the response to it.”

When will the Dale Earnhardt Sr. documentary debut on Prime Video?

The upcoming documentary series, which is titled Earnhardt, will premiere on Prime Video on Memorial Day Weekend. The project was announced by Amazon in May last year.

“The history of the Earnhardt family is the history of NASCAR-you can’t tell the story of one without the other -and at the center of the Earnhardt family was Dale Earnhardt Sr., the most influential figure the sport has ever known. A charismatic, working-class hero to millions of fans, Dale Sr. spent the better part of two decades as the most visible figure in stock car racing, breaking through the confines of the sport’s regional fan base to mainstream notoriety, racking up millions in endorsement deals from Coca-Cola to Wheaties, and appearing on daytime TV and late-night talk shows,” the press release said at the time.

“From one generation to the next, racing would bring the Earnhardt family together, but it wasn’t always an easy road. Now, with unparalleled access and never before seen archival material, the Untitled Earnhardt Documentary promises a profound, revealing, and definitive account of a historic American family.”
