In the aftermath of John Force’s fiery crash in Virginia, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is sending kind words and thoughts to the NHRA icon. The NASCAR Hall of Famer thinks a lot of Force and his skills as a driver.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has commented on John Force’s wreck already. However, this latest post on X.com, formerly known as Twitter, really captures just how much Earnhardt thinks of Force and his talent as a drag racer.

“Watched a previous post from Rick Mast and heard him call John Force the Richard Petty of drag racing,” Earnhardt said. “It is a perfect comparison. John Force has long been everything to drag racing. And for me, every moment I spent around him was as thrilling as watching him run the strip. Certainly wishing him comfort and a smooth recovery.”

The comparison is very apt. While John Force dwarfs Richard Petty in championships, 16 to 7, they both mean so much to their respective sports. Both Force and Petty were champions and pioneers in NHRA and NASCAR, respectively.

They are both living legends. Hall of Famers. Icons. Men who accomplished things that others only dreamed about and set a standard that has yet to be matched in many ways.

As John Force continues to recover, let’s hope for a quick and speedy timeframe. There was good news earlier today about his condition, though.

John Force moved to neuro intensive care

On Thursday afternoon, John Force Racing provided an update on the Funny Car driver’s condition. It was a positive update. Froce has moved from the trauma intensive care unit to the neuro intensive care unit. His medical team wants to focus on his head injury above all else.

“Four days after his crash at more than 300 miles per hour, drag racing champion John Force has moved from the trauma intensive care unit to the neuro intensive care unit, where the medical team can focus on his head injury which is their primary concern.

“The move was a welcome positive for his family members, who have maintained a daily presence at the hospital all week.”

Brittany Force, a two-time NHRA Top Fuel champion, will not compete this weekend. She will stay at the hospital with her father as he continues to recover.
