Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a great Sunday as he was perfect with his NFL picks. The NASCAR legend went to X and showed off the four picks he made during the Week 16 games.

Earnhardt first predicted Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa would throw under 244. 5 passing yards (got 215). He then picked Chicago Bears TE Cole Kemet to catch under 2.5 passes (got two). Earnhardt picked Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris to rush for under 47.5 yards (got 42) and then picked Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen to rush for under 34.5 yards (got 30).

Earnhardt had a good feeling about how these players would perform on Sunday. And along with dominating the under picks, the two-time Daytona 500 champion saw his favorite NFL team, the Washington Commanders, defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in a come-from-behind 36-33 victory. The Commanders are one step closer to clinching a playoff spot and have an outside shot to win the NFC East.

In 2017, Earnhardt spoke to Commanders.com about the first game he remembered watching, which was Super Bowl XVII when Washington defeated the Miami Dolphins 27-17. “They win the game,” he said, “and I just latched onto that. My mom started buying me helmets and jerseys and things like that for Christmas and we would suit up and get in the yard and it was a lot of fun.”

Earnhardt then talked about how much he liked watching players like Art Monk and Darrell Green. “[Monk] just seemed to always have his head on straight, always really dependable, reliable, and then Darrell Green came along,” Earnhardt said. “The same type of thing — great leader, great role model, great attitude, great personality. Good character and locker room guy.”

Earnhardt is such an NFL fan that he wants NASCAR to adopt something the league does. In July, Earnhardt said on his Dale Jr. Download podcast that NASCAR should have more consistent start times.

“I’ve always been for 1:00 starts right after the lunch getting the race going,” Earnhardt said. “I feel like people are just coming off of if they’re going to church or just a family lunch or whatever it may be, right after the lunch, BAM! Get the race started.

“The NFL does it every week,1:00 game, 4:00 game. There’s reasons why the networks run it at 3:00 and 3:30, and there’s good reasons why they do it that way. For me, I prefer the 1:00 starts.”
