Dallas Cowboys add Auburn playmaker Tank Bigsby in latest NFL mock draft
In the NFL’s latest four-round mock draft from analyst Chad Reuter, the Dallas Cowboys make a move to replenish their stocks at running back following the departure of Ezekiel Elliott. Unlike some other mock drafts, Reuter’s has the Cowboys waiting until the fourth round to draft a running back.
After mocking tight end Dalton Kincaid to Dallas in the first round, the latest mock draft has Jerry Jones going for UNC wideout Josh Downs in round two, Ohio State lineman Dawand Jones in three, then Auburn running back Tank Bigsby in round four.
Bigsby, a three-year contributor for the Tigers, was just 30 yards shy of notching a second 1,000-yard rushing season in 2022. He is ESPN‘s No. 13 best-available running back prospect, which would put him in the late fourth-round, early fifth-round range. At 6-foot-0, 213 pounds, Bigsby is similar in build to potential first-rounder Bijan Robinson.
Like Robinson, the Auburn standout is familiar with being the team workhorse. In 2021, he carried the ball 231 times for 1,099 yards and added 21 receptions. Bigsby logged a 4.56 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last month, finishing 10th among those in attendance. He re-ran the 40 at the Auburn Pro Day and shaved it down to a 4.45.
Making the first four picks all from the same side of the ball is unlikely but the Cowboys did just that in 2021. Starting with Micah Parsons, Dallas drafted six defenders in a row. All six have contributed so far and multiple have starred in Dan Quinn’s defense.
