The Dallas Cowboys welcomed a new offensive line assistant coach this week, former Denver Broncos quality control coach Ramon Chinyoung.

Chinyoung has just one season in the NFL under his belt but he has coached football for more than a decade. Prior to his stint with the Broncos, Chinyoung coached high school football in Texas.

Chinyoung is returning to Texas, where he coached in the high school ranks in Houston for 10 seasons.

He worked as an assistant coach at Westfield High School from 2012-19 before becoming head coach at Willowridge High School in Fort Bend.

In two seasons as head coach at Willowridge, Chinyoung led the Eagles to a combined 11-8 record and an appearance in the 2020 Texas high school playoffs.

The newest Cowboys assistant coach attended Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a four-year letter-winner from 2007-10, earning first-team All-SWAC honors twice.

Cowboys hire another new offensive assistant

The Cowboys have reportedly added a new offensive assistant for the 2023 staff, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer. Will Harriger, the new hire, is coming off of a stint with USC where he was a senior offensive analyst.

Harriger has worked with the Cowboys’ new offensive coordinator, Brian Schottenheimer, and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn in his nearly two decades of coaching.

Prior to USC, Harriger was an offensive assistant coach under Schottenheimer with the Jaguars. Before his work in Jacksonville, he was with Quinn in Atlanta. First, he was an offensive assistant. Then, he was game management coordinator before transitioning to running backs coach for the season’s final 12 weeks.

Harriger had a five-year stop with the Seattle Seahawks, beginning in 2014. He was an offensive assistant his first 2 seasons, then moved to assistant quarterbacks coach for the final 3 years.

Prior to breaking into the NFL ranks, Harriger worked at Florida, Auburn, Texas Tech, UT-Martin and Midwestern State. He started his career by earning a bachelor’s degree in communications from Auburn in 2004.
