Dallas Cowboys bringing in veteran lineman Jason Peters for visit
The Dallas Cowboys are currently desperate for offensive line help and on Wednesday afternoon, they decided schedule veteran offensive tackle Jason Peters for a visit, per Todd Archer of ESPN. He is scheduled to visit with the franchise on Thursday, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. Peters has played most of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles, but spent last season with the Chicago Bears, where he earned a 77.5 grade from Pro Football Focus. It’ll be interesting to see if the Cowboys believe he still has some juice left in the tank at 40 years old.
Dallas is searching for reinforcements along the offensive line after their left tackle Tyron Smith recently suffered an avulsion fracture of his knee in practice. He required surgery to repair the damage. The projected timeline for him to be out is until December at the very least, per reports. The Cowboys put Smith and wide receiver James Washington on the Injured Reserve list on Wednesday.
Last season, Chicago had a question mark at the left tackle position after 2021 second round pick Teven Jenkins, who was expected to fill that role, missed training camp last year with back issues that forced him to get surgery.

Peters played the majority of his career in Philadelphia, from 2009-2020.
During his prolific career in the National Football League, Jason Peters has made nine Pro Bowls, was a two-time First-team All-Pro selection, and a four-time Second-team All-Pro selection. He won Super Bowl LII with the Eagles, though he played in just seven games that season due to injury. Peters was also selected to the NFL 2010s All-Decade team.
Peters went undrafted out of the University of Arkansas. He spent three seasons at Arkansas, first as a defensive tackle, before moving to tight end for his sophomore and junior seasons. Peters worked out as an offensive tackle prior to the 2004 NFL Draft, but ultimately went undrafted and was picked up by the Buffalo Bills. In Buffalo, Peters spent two years learning how to play offensive tackle and was made the starter in 2006. After five seasons in Buffalo, Peters signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
