The Dallas Cowboys took a hit this week with the injury to wideout James Washington, however, one new report is very intriguing. Reporter Bobby Belt shared his takeaways from practice on Monday and revealed that receiver CeeDee Lamb had an “all-world” practice.

“CeeDee Lamb is having an all-world practice,” Belt tweeted. “On the sideline, in traffic, high pointing the ball, coming back to it…whatever. He’s catching everything in every single possible way.”

The former Oklahoma star dressed out and participated in walkthrough exercises with the team on Saturday, but was held out of team drills once full-speed work began. After the latest report, it appears the Cowboys’ leading receiver was just taking some rest.

The Cowboys are depending on Lamb after the departure of talents like Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson this offseason. Washington was brought in from the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency but is now hurt. Lamb is clearly Dak Prescott‘s top weapon in the receiving game for 2022 so a strong start to fall camp is welcome news for Dallas fans.

Last season, Lamb finished with 120 targets, 79 receptions, 1,102 yards and six touchdowns.

Cowboys receiver James Washington exits with injury

The Dallas Cowboys saw one of their first major injuries of training camp on Monday. Receiver James Washington reportedly suffered a foot fracture. The injury appeared to occur on a play where he was one on one with Trevon Diggs near the endzone. It looked like Diggs landed on Washington’s right foot as they went for a pass.

Following examination, reports revealed that Washington’s injury will force him to miss roughly two months as they confirmed he fractured his right foot. He’ll get surgery on Tuesday.

“The Cowboys will be without wide receiver James Washington for 6-10 weeks because of a fractured right foot suffered Monday,” explained ESPN’s Todd Archer.

Adding to the difficulty this places on Dallas, Washington was going to play a major part in the Dallas offense with Michael Gallup’s availability in doubt.

Washington is a native of Texas, coming back to play for his hometown team this offseason. He was a second-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers and spent four years with the AFC club. There, he was able to catch 114 balls for 1,629 yards and 11 touchdowns.
