Already possessing a 10-0 lead in the second quarter, Cowboys defenders Dante Fowler and Micah Parsons combined to stop a Tennessee drive dead in its tracks with a strip sack on Josh Dobbs and a recovery. Parsons came up with the recovery despite his left hand being constrained by a club-like cast.

The takeaway was the 31st of the season for Dallas, moving them into first in the category this season.

Fowler’s sack was the second of the defensive stand for the Cowboys after Donovan Wilson came up with the first of the game on a first down.

With his sack earlier in the drive, Wilson has five sacks this season. That is tied with Bill Bates for the most sacks in a season by a Cowboys safety since 1982. Wilson’s 8.5 career sacks are third all-time by a Cowboys safety.

Micah Parsons was questionable heading into game day due to the hand injury. The damage to his left hand is reportedly a laceration, not something more serious like a fracture.

The former Penn State star made his presence on the field known early with a tackle on the Titans’ second drive of the game.

With Ryan Tannehill fresh off of ankle surgery, the Titans are starting backup quarterback Joshua Dobbs. The former Steeler has just five pass attempts on the season and is getting the start over rookie Malik Willis. The last time Dobbs played in the stadium in Nashville, he was leading the Vols to victory over Nebraska in the 2016 Music City Bowl. Protecting him is a patchwork offensive line with starting right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere out.
