Dallas Cowboys expected to start rookie offensive linemen Tyler Guyton and Cooper Beebe in preseason vs. Raiders
The Dallas Cowboys were expected to start rookie offensive linemen Tyler Guyton (left tackle) and Cooper Beebe (center) in Saturday night’s preseason game vs. the Raiders. That news was relayed on Saturday evening by Jon Machota of The Athletic.
Cooper Beebe was one of the most dominant players in America coming out of Kansas State, earning first team All-American honors in 2022 and Unanimous All-American honors in 2023. Tyler Guyton bounced around at a number of positions in college, before ultimately settling on right tackle in his first season with the Oklahoma Sooners. In a total of 400 snaps, he allowed only two sacks and no quarterback hits.
In the game, Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey drilled a 66-yard field goal. It would have been an NFL record if it was during the regular season.
It’s been quite the ride for the former Notre Dame soccer star. He’s got one of the more fascinating stories of an NFL kicker you’ll ever see. Before joining the NFL, he was drafted in the MLS in the 2017 Draft. Aubrey also worked as a software engineer.
Now he’s drilling 66-yard kicks in the preseason. Just an incredible story. While 66-yards is incredibly long, Aubrey did show us last year that he had impressive length. In Week 14 against the Eagles, he became the first kicker in NFL history to connect on two field goals more than 59 yards in the same game, when he hit a 59-yarder and a 60-yarder in the Cowboys-Eagles game. In Week 8 of the Rams-Cowboys game, he connected on a 58-yard field goal. It seems like he’s got a bright future ahead as a kicker in the NFL, because those are pretty amazing numbers.

In 17 games played for the Cowboys last year, he connected on 36 of 38 field goals, while also drilling 49 of his 52 extra points.
