Dallas Cowboys great Dez Bryant reacts to CeeDee Lamb's contract extension
Dez Bryant was happy to see the Dallas Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb finally come to an agreement on a new contract Monday. It was reported that Lamb agreed to a four-year extension worth $136 million that will keep him through the 2028 season.
The contract makes Lamb the second-highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Bryant believes he is worth every penny, and made it known via a post to social media.
“I woke up from a nap seeing 88 paid!” Bryant wrote on X. “Well deserved. I love to see it.”
Lamb has recorded over 1,000 yards in three of his four NFL seasons, with the lone season outside of that number landing at 935 yards. Through four years, Lamb averages 1,286.3 yards and eight touchdowns per season.
He is fresh off of his career-best statistical season, catching 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. The 25-year-old receiver has been All-Pro twice, made three Pro Bowls and led the NFL in receptions last year.

Bryant also knows a thing or two about what it takes to be a top receiver for the Cowboys. He played for the team from 2010-17 and is the franchise’s all-time lead in receiving touchdowns with 73.
With Lamb now locked in for the future, he will hope to continue to climb up the leaderboard to join legends such as Bryant in Cowboys history. Dallas kicks off the 2024 regular season against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8.

Mike McCarthy reacts to CeeDee Lamb’s contract extension
Mike McCarthy has to be a happy head coach in Dallas, getting his star wide receiver back.
When asked for his reaction to the news, McCarthy said everyone involved was “relieved” to have the deal done. Lamb was not with the team for all of training camp, instead holding out and preparing for the 2024 season on his own.
“I was excited, but I think just like anything your being updated frequently on where things stand,” McCarthy said via ESPN’s Todd Archer. “I was anticipating a sooner or later type situation today, so, yeah, it was good to get this done. I think we’re all relieved.”
McCarthy says Lamb will be in “ramp-up mode” this week with his return to Dallas. Some kind of plan is already in the head coach’s head and once getting face to face with Lamb, it will all be worked out.
“I think, number-one, it was great to get the contract in place and obviously have him back,” McCarthy said. “The schedule we have for the week frankly fits into a ramp-up mode. We don’t have to do a whole lot of adjusting but we have a plan for him. When I have time to sit down with CeeDee, that will be something we go through.”
