Report: Dallas Cowboys hopeful Michael Gallup will return versus New York Giants
The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly hopeful that wide receiver Michael Gallup will return to game action for their Week 3 matchup against the New York Giants. Gallup tore his ACL in January at the end of last season and has been working towards a return to action as the expected No. 2 receiver in the Cowboys offense.
Michael Gallup could return Week 3
“Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup (ACL) is trending toward a return next Monday at Giants. ‘We’re going to try to give him a full slate this week’ in practice, coach Mike McCarthy said. Whenever Gallup makes season debut, he is not expected to see his usual workload off the bat,” detailed Dallas Morning News‘ Michael Gehlken.
The news is a major relief to Dallas fans and the banged up Cowboys offense, as Gallup will help spread the field for CeeDee Lamb. The Cowboys offense struggled in Week 1 against Tampa Bay prior to Dak Prescott‘s injury, failing to score a touchdown in the season opener. Last week, Cooper Rush led the Cowboys to two-straight touchdown drives to start the game with a huge lift from Noah Brown — who scored his first career touchdown in the win over Cincinnati.
