The deadline for clubs to host top-30 visitors passed on Wednesday. Dallas had two dozen reported visits, including UCLA running back Zach Charbonnet, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. Pelissero shared that Charbonnet took his last visit to Tampa Bay this week, after logging visits with the Cowboys, Chargers, Bills, Bears and Raiders.

At running back, the Cowboys have also shown interest in TexasBijan Robinson, Ole Miss‘s Zach Evans and TCU star Kendre Miller.

Charbonnet had two 1,000+ yard seasons at UCLA in 2021 and 2022. After transferring from Michigan, the 6-foot-1, 220-pound back had 27 rushing touchdowns. He also added 61 catches in two seasons for the Bruins.

Charbonnet is a native of Camarillo, California. Coming out of high school, he was a four-star prospect who ranked in the national top 50. He was the No. 42 overall prospect in the 2019 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On the ESPN best-available board, Charbonnett is the No. 4 running back in the 2023 class, behind Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs and Tyjae Spears.

Hosting the draftees for private workouts and top-30 visits gives the Cowboys an opportunity to get more face time with the potential picks and get to know them beyond the tape and combine performances.

The NFL’s top-30 visits are reserved for 30 prospects per team and do not involve on-field workouts. They serve as job interviews, on top of medical checkups and meetings with the coaching staff.
