Former Dallas Cowboys superstar and Hall of Famer Michael Irvin made a bold claim on Friday. The day after the NFL held its annual Hall of Fame preseason game to kick off the season, Irvin, also known as ‘The Playmaker,’ posted the picture below to his social media account. Attached to the photo was the caption, ‘Any pass you throw will be caught by this group!’

The former Miami Hurricanes great spent his entire professional career with the Cowboys spanning 12 seasons. He finished his career with 750 catches for 11,904 yards and 65 touchdowns, five Pro Bowl selections, and is a one-time all-pro recipient. Irvin is also a member of the Cowboys’ Ring of Honor and one of a handful of chosen receivers privileged enough to wear the number 88 for the team.

Irvin’s statement wasn’t actually that bold, given that pictured above are 12 of the 31 wide receivers in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Along with Irvin in the picture is another Hall of Fame Cowboys receiver Drew Pearson, Steelers Lynn Swann, Lions Calvin Johnson, and namesake for the most outstanding wideout in American College Football, Fred Biletnikoff, just to name a few faces.

Dallas Cowboys place Anthony Barr on PUP list

The Dallas Cowboys made a move on Friday evening with their most recent signee, former Minnesota linebacker Anthony Barr. The Cowboys placed him on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list on Friday, per Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network. The move gives him some time to ramp up his activity level after he had a long stint as a free agent this offseason. He was spotted at practice on Friday in a jersey and shorts.

Once he’s ready to join the rest of the team, Barr will join a linebacking corps that includes: Micah ParsonsLeighton Vander EschJabril Cox, and Devin Harper.

After multiple months of interest in signing him, the Cowboys made the call to sign Barr. He played eight seasons with the Minnesota Vikings after being drafted by them out of UCLA with the ninth-overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Barr made four straight Pro Bowls from 2015-2018, and accumulating 17.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles and five interceptions over his career so far. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Barr’s one-year contract was worth up to $3 million.
