Mike McCarthy reveals latest on Michael Gallup ahead of Monday game versus Giants
The Dallas Cowboys could have a big name back in the lineup on Monday in the divisional rivalry game versus the New York Giants. Head coach Mike McCarthy revealed on Thursday that wide receiver Michael Gallup is ramping up his reps with a full load this week. However, based on the coach’s comments, it’s too early to put Gallup in your fantasy lineup.
“If he does play, I don’t see him playing 70 plays,” McCarthy said, via Jon Machota.
McCarthy also added that the former Colorado State star is through the physical tests at this point. The Cowboys will continue ramping up his work through Sunday, then make the ultimate decision about his snaps for Monday night.

“We have already crossed the physical, it’s more about getting the reps and getting him up to speed,” McCarthy said on Thursday, via Brittany Bowen.
Gallup hasn’t played a game since his tore his ACL in January. Last season, he started Week 1 before missing seven games with an ankle injury. In nine appearances, he totaled 445 receiving yards and two touchdowns before the torn ACL cut his season short.
The news is a major development for the banged-up Cowboys offense, as Gallup will help spread the field for CeeDee Lamb. The Dallas offense struggled in Week 1 against Tampa Bay prior to Dak Prescott‘s injury, failing to score a touchdown in the season opener.
Last week, Cooper Rush led his team on two-straight touchdown drives to start the game with a huge lift from Noah Brown — who scored his first career touchdown in the win over Cincinnati.

Cowboys workout rookie receiver
The Cowboys hosted former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Ra’Shaun Henry for a workout on Wednesday, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson. The former Virginia standout also worked out with the San Francisco 49ers this week.
Henry was an undrafted free agent after spending two seasons with the Cavaliers. He signed with the Panthers after the draft but didn’t make it through to the regular season. Carolina cut him from the practice squad on Sept. 5.
After graduating from St. Francis, Ra’Shaun Henry transferred to Virginia. In 21 games, he totaled 41 receptions for 809 yards and seven touchdowns.
The speedy 6-foot-3, 190-pound wideout could find a home back in his home state if he lands with the Cowboys. Henry is a Killeen native. Dallas made a move to waive a wide receiver on Tuesday and a spot on the practice squad could be opening up.
