Dak Prescott to be cleared, return to practice on Wednesday
Cooper Rush has been sailing the Dallas Cowboys ship since Week 2, with things going swimmingly heading into Sunday night. Then, the Philadelphia Eagles came calling, crashing the boat back into reality for the organization. Now, the return of Dak Prescott is on the minds of everyone in Dallas.
Head coach Mike McCarthy provided an update on Prescott, saying the “anticipation” is for the quarterback to be cleared on Monday or Tuesday. Once jumping that hurdle, Prescott will be back in practice on Wednesday, preparing for the Detroit Lions.

“The anticipation is for Dak to be cleared today or tomorrow,” McCarthy said. “And then he’ll return to practice on Wednesday.”
Prescott said “yeah, sure, that’s my plan,” when asked if he would return this week when speaking to the media after the Philadelphia loss. Although he was never going to play on Sunday, Prescott still went through pregame exercises and was throwing the ball. Continual progress has been made.
Dallas has gone five games without their franchise quarterback under center, winning four of them. It’s better than anybody associated with the Cowboys could have imagined when the injury occurred during the season opener. Hopefully, Prescott will be able to remain healthy for the remaining parts of the season.

Dak Prescott wanted to play against Philadelphia
No matter who Dallas’ starting quarterback was, last night’s NFC East showdown against Philadelphia was a massive one. Both teams would have set the tone in the division moving forward with a win and now, the Eagles have all the momentum.
If it were up to Prescott, he would have played on Sunday night. During a report on NBC’s broadcast, the Dallas quarterback explained how they were sticking to a plan.
“September 12th, he had surgery,” explained NBC’s Melissa Stark. “A plate and seven screws inserted to stabilize the fracture at the base of his right thumb. He told me he expects them to stay in permanently. He was given a four-to-six-week return window, and next Sunday marks week six.
“In pregame warmups, he said if it were up to him, 100 percent he would’ve played tonight. But that there’s been a plan in place and that he didn’t want to push it. He said his grip strength is an A right now, he wants it to be an A-plus.”
