Dak Prescott 'looking' to return Week 5 against Los Angeles
Dak Prescott is on track to return to the field sooner rather originally though, recovering from his thumb injury nicely. During Monday Night Football’s broadcast, he teased a possible return against Washington in Week 4 to ESPN’s Lisa Salters. The story seemed to change after the game though.
When Prescott was again asked if he would return for the Cowboys’ second consecutive NFC East showdown, the quarterback said “probably not.” Instead, the following week when Dallas travels to Los Angeles to face the Rams is when Prescott is truly “looking” to retake his spot as the starting quarterback.

“Nah, probably not,” Prescott told the USA TODAY about possibly facing Washington. “But Week 5 against the Rams? That’s the one I’m looking at.”
Progress was made on Sunday for Prescott, with the stitch being removed from his surgically removed right thumb. Now able to grip a football, the next step is being comfortable throwing and releasing in game-like situations. Until he can routinely do that, there will be no return for No. 4.
Even in his absence, Dallas has found a way to win football games. Cooper Rush has been leading the offense, getting a surprise victory over the Cincinnati Bengals and even leading a game-winning drive against the New York Giants on Monday night.
But despite the best efforts of Jerry Jones, there will be no quarterback controversy in Dallas. When Prescott is ready to return, he will be the guy.

Jerry Jones weighs in on return for Dak Prescott
The Dallas Prescott went down in their opener. However, the endgame is to get Prescott back and under center for America’s Team as soon as possible.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones joined 105.3 The Fan after his team’s win on Monday Night Football and talked about Prescott’s timeline. He said his recovery is ahead of schedule and this week will be about determining just how far along he is.
“I think his progress is nothing short of amazing,” Jones said. “It’s a question of whether or not he’ll be able to grip and throw the ball, and we don’t know that.”
Prescott left the Cowboys’ opening loss to Tampa Bay with a thumb injury that some feared would keep him out for a significant amount of time. However, he has made significant progress and it appears he could be available any week now.
