Dallas Cowboys RB Tony Pollard ruled out against Tennessee Titans for Thursday night
The Dallas Cowboys will be shorthanded in the backfield on Thursday night when they take on the Tennessee Titans as running back Tony Pollard will be inactive, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Without Pollard, Ezekiel Elliott will be leaned on and third-string back Malik Davis will likely eat up a few more carries. And against a declining Tennessee pass defense, the Cowboys could certainly lean in to a Dak Prescott-centric game plan to air things out.
Pollard is amid the most productive season of his career, which included four starts when Elliott wasn’t fully healthy. Pollard has nine rushing touchdowns after scoring eight the previous three years and has stepped up as an even more adept threat in the passing game, adding three scores there.
Further, Pollard hasn’t fumbled all season despite an increased snap count.
A full accounting of active and inactive players for Thursday night will be out a few hours prior to kickoff.
Titans star RB Derrick Henry might not play against the Cowboys
Losing Derrick Henry would be quite a blow for the Tennessee Titans Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys. It’s also having an impact on the spread for the game.

The Cowboys are now favored by 12 points after the Titans announced Henry is doubtful for the Thursday Night Football showdown. That’s nearly a three-point swing from the original 9.5-point spread.
Henry is a key part of the Tennessee offense and has put together another impressive year in 2022. He has rushed for 1,429 yards and 13 touchdowns in 15 games for the Titans, who bring a 7-8 record into the matchup against the Cowboys.
Dallas is looking to build off last week’s thrilling victory over the NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles, which came down to the wire. Two Brett Maher field goals in the final minutes proved to be the difference as the Cowboys came away with the 40-34 win.
Kickoff between Dallas and Tennessee is set for Thursday at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
