The Dallas Cowboys released their final injury report Friday ahead of Sunday’s Week 1 road matchup against the New York Giants.

As things stand, Dallas could be without both left guard Tyler Smith (hamstring) and safety Donovan Wilson (calf), both of whom were listed as doubtful, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. Left tackle Tyron Smith (ankle) and defensive end Sam Williams (foot), meanwhile, have been listed as questionable.

According to head coach Mike McCarthy, Tyron Smith and Tyler Smith could practice Saturday after participating in team walkthroughs Friday. The team is also monitoring Wilson for a possible return.

“We’re making progress,” McCarthy said of the trio.

The plan is for all three to practice in limited fashion Saturday. If they can do that, then they could play Sunday against the Giants. In Wilson’s case, McCarthy told reporters he’d be on a snap count. Wilson started every game in 2022, recording 101 tackles (77 solo), 5.0 sacks and two forced fumbles.

An MRI confirmed early this week that Tyler Smith, the 2022 first-round pick out of Tulsa, suffered a hamstring strain. He started all 17 games as a rookie, performing admirably. The 22-year-old earned a 71.4 overall grade and allowed six sacks in 1,144 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

Tyron Smith, the veteran former All-Pro, ended up on the practice report late in the week with an ankle injury. The elder Smith spent the majority of the 2022 season on the sideline due to a torn hamstring and avulsion fracture.

Cowboys relying on depth in Week 1 due to injuries

In the event the injured linemen can’t go, free agent pickup Chuma Edoga would fill in for Tyron Smith at left tackle while rookie Asim Richards slots in for Tyler Smith at left guard. Dan Quinn’s defense would be without one of its leading tacklers and leaders if Wilson can’t play in Week 1. Without him, the Cowboys would rely on Malik Hooker and Israel Mukuamu, as well as Markquese Bell, to pick up the slack opposite Jayron Kearse.
