Dallas Cowboys release Wednesday injury report vs Jacksonville Jaguars

The Dallas Cowboys got a cleaner bill of health than weeks past on Wednesday’s injury report, but the defense still isn’t fully healthy. Four players had injury designations to start the week of practice, three of which are on defense.

The only player to miss Wednesday’s practice was tight end Jake Ferguson, who’s dealing with a concussion. He suffered the injury in last week’s close victory over the Houston Texans and Mike McCarthy previously said it’s “too early to tell” if Ferguson will be able to play this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Three players — Dorance Armstrong, Jayron Kearse and DeMarcus Lawrence — were all limited with their respective injuries. Kearse appeared to suffer a leg injury before last week’s game against Houston, but is listed on the injury report with shoulder and back injuries.

Jerry Jones reveals latest timeline for DT Johnathan Hankins return

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed on Tuesday when he expects defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins back on the field. Hankins suffered a pectoral strain on Sunday in the 27-22 win over the Houston Texans.

“You could see Johnathan back for the playoffs, he won’t be back before then,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan.

If Hankins does miss the rest of the regular season, the Cowboys will play the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Tennessee Titans and the Washington Commanders without one of their key defensive line pieces. The news comes at a rough time for Dallas as they pursue a potential division title while still two games behind Philly. Luckily, defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has depth at the position with Neville Gallimore and Quinton Bohanna.
