Report: Dallas Cowboys request interview with Miami Dolphins assistant coach Ryan Crow for defensive coordinator
The Dallas Cowboys requested an interview with Miami Dolphins assistant Ryan Crow for their defensive coordinator position, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Cowboys requested to interview Dolphins outside linebackers coach Ryan Crow for their DC position, per sources, and he is due to meet with Dallas soon,” Schefter wrote on Twitter. “Crow interviewed last week for the Patriots DC spot.”
Crow recently joined the Dolphins. In fact, he just wrapped up his first season with the team, coaching the outside linebackers.
As Schefter reported, he interviewed for the open Patriots DC position to coach under new head coach Mike Vrabel.
The 2024 season marked Crow’s seventh as an NFL coach after spending six seasons (2018-23) with Tennessee. He also spent seven years as a collegiate coach.
In Crow’s three seasons (2021-23) as Tennessee’s outside linebackers coach, he helped several Titans defenders to some of the best seasons in their career. Denico Autry’s three seasons with Crow led to three of the four highest sack totals of his 10-year NFL career – 9.0 in 2021, 8.0 in 2022 and a career-high 11.5 in 2023.
Harold Landry III had the two most productive seasons of his career while being coached by Crow, totaling a career-high 12.0 sacks in 2021 and 10.5 sacks in 2023. The Titans finished in the top half of the league in rushing defense all three seasons.

Ryan Crow to Dallas Cowboys staff?
If Crow comes aboard, new head coach Brian Schottenheimer will have one of his top assistant positions filled.
Schottenheimer is replacing Mike McCarthy, who mutually parted ways with Dallas after five seasons and three playoff appearances.
Schottenheimer is stepping into arguably the best opening on the market with a talent-laden roster in “win now” mode. Team owner Jerry Jones actually declared the Cowboys as “all-in” for the 2024 season, though injuries derailed them. Dallas finished 7-10, missing out on the postseason.
Quarterback Dak Prescott, linebacker Micah Parsons, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, cornerbacks Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland, receiver Brandin Cooks and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown all missed time with injuries. Prescott notably suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in Week 9 but plans to be back by the start of OTA’s with no restrictions.
