The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly created $20 million in cap space after agreeing to a restructured deal with Pro Bowl receiver CeeDee Lamb, according to ESPN reporter Todd Archer.

Lamb signed a four-year, $136 million contract extension prior to the start of the 2024-25 NFL season that made him, at the time, the second highest-paid non-quarterback in league history, and included a record $38 million signing bonus. Lamb’s deal initially reset the market for NFL receivers before the Minnesota Vikings locked up Justin Jefferson with a record $140 million extension over four years.

By restructuring Lamb’s deal, the Cowboys converted $25 million of Lamb’s 2025 salary into a signing bonus, which lowered his 2025 cap number by $20 million and increased his cap number from 2026-29 by $5 million per season, according to Archer.

Despite injuries limiting him to a career-low 15 games in 2024, Lamb still posted his fourth-consecutive 1,000-yard receiving year and third-consecutive 100-reception campaign after hauling in 101 catches for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns last season. Over his five-year NFL career, Lamb has 496 receptions for 6,339 yards and 38 career receiving touchdowns. The 25-year-old Lamb, a 2020 first-round pick out of Oklahoma, has made four consecutive Pro Bowls and three straight All-Pro teams.

Now with Lamb’s restructured deal done, the Cowboys turn their attention to restructuring the massive $240 million extension that quarterback Dak Prescott signed prior to last season, which included an $80 million signing bonus.

With Lamb’s restructuring, and a new deal for defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa, Dallas currently has just over $18 million in cap space, according to OverTheCap.com. NFL free agency begins at 4 pm ET, March 12.

Dallas Cowboys, DL Osa Odighizuwa agree to massive contract extension

The Dallas Cowboys and defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa have agreed to a new contract. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Odighizuwa has agreed to a four-year, $80 million deal that includes $58 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.

The Cowboys selected Osa Odighizuwa in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. During the 2024 season, the former UCLA star recorded 47 tackles, five tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, one pass defended and one forced fumble.

Last month, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters the team wants Odighizuwa back for the 2025 season and beyond.

“I think there’s a lot of ongoing conversations,” Schottenheimer told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine, per Cowboys.com. “Obviously Osa has done a terrific job for us. He’s a terrific young player. He does everything right and as the communications keep going. It’s never done until it’s done, but he’d be a guy we’d love to have back.”
