Dallas Cowboys schedule private workout with former TCU running back Kendre Miller
The Dallas Cowboys have been closely eyeing running backs this offseason. With Ezekiel Elliott nearing his 30s and Tony Pollard locked in for just one year on the 2023 franchise tag, the team could be trying to find the future of the position in this year’s draft.
On Thursday, Cowboys insider Bobby Belt reported that Dallas has scheduled a private workout with former TCU running back Kendre Miller.
Miller told reporters at the NFL combine that he hadn’t met with the team in Indianapolis. However, he has a dinner on the books for the end of the month near the Horned Frogs’ Pro Day.
According to ESPN’s best-available board, Miller is the No. 9 running back prospect in the draft class.
After relatively productive seasons for TCU in 2020 and 2021, Miller went off in 2022 with 1,399 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. He also added 116 yards on 16 receptions.
The 6-foot-0, 220-pound running back injured his knee in the Horned Frogs’ 51–45 win over Michigan in the College Football Playoff. The injury kept him out of the national championship game versus Georgia.
Miller isn’t the only TCU star the Cowboys noticed this past season.

“What a great year TCU had,” McCarthy said. “I just love the way (Duggan) plays. One thing about the games I saw is that you’re never out of the game with Max. I think it’s a huge characteristic as a quarterback you have to have in this league.”
Jerry Jones has made the Cowboys’ priorities for this year’s draft clear and the team will be drafting a quarterback. It’s not completely far-fetched that Dallas could wind up with the star out of Fort Worth.
