Dallas Cowboys sign defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad
The Dallas Cowboys are adding more depth to their defensive line, According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
On Thursday, Schefter took to social media to announce that the Cowboys’ll sign former Indianapolis Colts defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad as their training camp gets underway in Oxnard, CA.
Cowboys are signing free-agent defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad to a one-year deal,” said Schefter via X.
Muhammad has been a bit of a journeyman in the NFL after the New Orleans Saints selected him in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. After spending one year in New Orleans, the former Miami Hurricanes standout made his first stop in Indianapolis, playing for the Colts for four seasons from 2018 to 2021. Muhammad would spend 2022 in the Windy City as a member of the Chicago Bears before returning to Indianapolis.
After an MRI has confirmed that Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams tore his ACL during practice Sunday, Dallas wasted little time filling the void caused by his injury.

Williams went down with an apparent left knee injury and had to be carted off the field. He sustained the injury taking part in a special teams drill. NFL insider Ian Rapoport confirmed what all Cowboys fans that Williams would be lost for the season with a torn ACL.

Williams was gearing up for his third season with the Cowboys, who selected him in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Ole Miss. He has suited up in 32 games over the past two seasons, tallying 8.5 sacks, 48 tackles (30 solo), 16 quarterback hits and two forced fumbles. Dallas expected Williams to once again serve as useful depth behind Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence this season.
The Cowboys also have former Western Michigan pass rusher Marshawn Kneeland, who they selected in the second round of this year’s draft to assist in pressuring opposing quarterbacks. Kneeland had a career-high 57 tackles this past season at WMU, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. In four seasons, he had 28.0 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. He also blocked a kick as a redshirt sophomore.
