Dallas Cowboys sign three players to Reserve/Future contracts
The Dallas Cowboys announced the signings of three more players to Reserve/Future contracts this week.
The Cowboys officially signed offensive lineman Isaac Alarcon, linebacker Malik Jefferson and tight end Seth Green, which will keep all three around for the 90-man training camp roster.
Alarcon played college football at the Monterrey Institute of Technology. He joined the Cowboys roster initially in 2020 as a part of the league’s International Player Pathway Program.
Jefferson, a 2018 Bengals third-round draft pick, has played for three squads since leaving Texas. He played for Cincinnati, Cleveland and then the Chargers. He totaled 16 tackles in 34 games played.
Green, a 24-year-old tight end out of the University of Houston, joined the Cowboys practice squad in October.

Last month, nine more players signed reserve/future contracts. The offensive signees were receivers Antonio Callaway, Dontario Drummond and Dennis Houston, offensive linemen Alex Taylor, Brock Hoffman and Alex Lindstrom. On the defensive side, the Cowboys have signed cornerback Sheldrick Redwine, and safeties Tyler Coyle and Juanyeh Thomas.
Most of the players signed spent time on the Cowboys’ practice squad this past season.
Cowboys make headway on 2023 roster
According to the NFL’s rules regarding futures contracts, the players the Cowboys signed will not count against the salary cap or roster limit for the current season. However, it does prevent them from negotiating with other teams. When the time comes to sign free agents heading into next season, Dallas will have first priority for these players.
The Cowboys finished this past season with a 12-5 record, earning a trip to the playoffs for the second straight year. Unfortunately, they would go on to lose to San Francisco in the divisional round by a score of 19-12. Dallas has not made it past the divisional round since 1995, the last time it won a Super Bowl.
The Cowboys have franchise tags to designate, prospects to scout and draft, and many deals to make between now and the start of rookie minicamp in May.
