ESPN analyst hammers Dallas Cowboys over Dak Prescott social media decision

Playoff losses can unfairly fall on the shoulders of quarterbacks at times, especially when you are viewed as the franchise guy. However, not much has been unfair toward Dak Prescott, who was not able to get a win against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Another season of disappointment for everyone involved in the Dallas Cowboys organization.

Reactions and reports began to flood in from Santa Clara, especially after Prescott spoke to media members and took blame for the loss. His two interceptions came at costly moments and will be a point of discussion for the entire offseason.

This caused the official Dallas Cowboys Twitter account to put out an article with comments from the quarterback. Prescott’s mistakes were highlighted in the tweet as well, being broadcasted out to over four million followers.

ESPN analyst Jay Williams was not too happy with the social media team’s decision to put out the tweet, calling it a “damn shame.” Williams believes the move was disrespectful to Prescott, even if a beat reporter was just doing their job.

“I am shocked that the (Dallas Cowboys) would post this about their franchise quarterback,” Williams said. “This is NOT what a ‘team’ should be about. Who is in charge of social media? Damn shame.”

Williams has not been the only one to react to the tweet, with there being nearly 8,000 retweets and 2,400 replies. Not too many people are happy with the social media team following a playoff loss.

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys crash out of the playoffs

Less than a week ago, a ton of praise was coming the way of Prescott. He played one of the best games of his career, carving up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Confidence was going to be flying out with the Cowboys to the West Coast and in fact, was left there as well.

Prescott threw two timely interceptions and was lucky to not have a third. The 49ers could have sealed the game with a pick-six but settled for a quick three-and-out instead. Dallas really never got rolling on the defensive end, leaving most wanting to pull their hair out.

The Cowboys will get back to the drawing board, prepping for another go at a Super Bowl run beginning in the fall. Prescott is only going to see the pressure go up as well, taking up a good chunk of cap space due to his lengthy contract.
