Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is quickly working his way back from an ankle injury he suffered on Sunday versus the Minnesota Vikings. The former Alabama defensive back addressed the injury on Thursday.

“It’s getting better every day,” Diggs said. “Just keep treating it. But it’s getting better. As the days goes on, the weeks goes on, it’s getting better and better. Feeling better.”

The Cowboys listed Diggs as a full participant in Thursday’s practice report.

Diggs, in his second year in the NFL, has seven interceptions on the season. That stat leads the NFL’s other top defenders handily. Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson and Titans safety Kevin Byard trail with four picks each.

Thanks, in part, to Trevon Diggs, the Dallas Cowboys are tied for the lead in the NFL in interceptions after seven games with 11. The New Orleans Saints, L.A. Rams and Buffalo Bills also have 11.

The Dallas Cowboys notched win No. 6 of the 2021 season on Sunday night 20-16 over the Minnesota Vikings. Diggs had one tackle in the game before taking a hit to the ankle.

Dallas stars limited at practice

The Dallas Cowboys on Sunday will play host to the Denver Broncos with hopes of further extending their NFC East division lead — but in order to have the best chance at doing so, they’ll need their star players back from the injury list.

The Cowboys currently have a myriad of star players on the injury report, including CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs, Amari Cooper and more. On Thursday, Dallas had a few key pieces return to the practice field, but the status of a few top players remains in doubt.

CeeDee Lamb suffered his sprained ankle in Wednesday’s practice, and his status for Sunday is still very much up in the air after he did not practice on Thursday. Tight end Blake Jarwin is unlikely to play on Sunday versus Denver.

Dak Prescott has been nursing a calf injury, and the Cowboys opted not to put their franchise quarterback and MVP candidate at risk last week. However, he fully participated in practice on Thursday.
