Trevon Diggs reacts to CeeDee Lamb's huge performance against Rams
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb made his best case yet for a big payday on Sunday during the Week 8 matchup against the L.A. Rams. The former first-round draft pick had 158 yards, which marks a new career-high, and two touchdowns on 12 receptions, another career-high, with 14 targets in the 43-20 win that moved Dallas to 5-2 on the season. He scored on from 22 and 10 yards out.
Injured cornerback Trevor Diggs took notice of the wideout’s huge performance and sent a message to his team via social media. “Pay him,” Diggs posted on X during the game with a money bag emoji and #88.
The former Alabama star knows a thing or two about getting paid. He secured a five-year deal for $97 million this offseason before tearing his ACL after two games.
Just last week, CeeDee Lamb pulled in 117 yards on seven receptions. His season totals are now up to 46 catches, 633 yards and three touchdowns. At this time last season, he hadn’t yet had a game with more than 100 receiving yards, however, he has three already this year.
The fourth-year Cowboys star is in the final year of his rookie contract, although the team has opted to exercise his fifth-year option. Although he knows Dallas is in negotiation mode about an extension, Lamb told reporters this summer that he’s being hands-off in the process.

“That’s for my agent,” Lamb said. “I’m trying to play. That’s what I’m here to do and that’s what I love to do.”
Lamb: ‘I’m not stingy’
Despite making his frustrations about his usage clear to the media prior to his breakout week last week, Lamb wanted people to know he’s not being a diva. He opened up about his hopes for the offense ahead of the Rams game. The former Sooner believes the Cowboys drafted him in the first round for a reason, and it wasn’t to get four or five targets a game.
“I have to make it clear, I’m not stingy,” Lamb said on Thursday after practice. “I’m here to help. I don’t necessarily think you take anyone in the first round and not have them help the team. That’s point-blank period. Just let me do what I can do to provide for this team. I know all my brothers in the locker room know I got their back. And I say that confidently.”
Lamb also advocated for his fellow receivers to get the ball more, which will, in turn, open up the run game for Tony Pollard and the other running backs.
