The Dallas Cowboys will have to rely on their depth on defense to stop Jalen Hurts. Today, the team announced two players on the defensive side of the football will miss the game.

“Mike McCarthy says Keanu Neal and Bradlee Anae (Reserve/COVID) will not be available to play Monday vs. Philly,” tweeted Cowboys writer Rob Phillips.

Keanu Neal has been starting at linebacker for the Cowboys this season. While it was originally reported by The Athletic’s Jon Machota that Neal didn’t test positive for COVID, ESPN’s Todd Archer provided an important update.

“Keanu Neal has tested positive for COVID and will not play Monday vs. Philadelphia and his availability for Week 4 vs. Carolina is also in question because of the protocols in place that he would need to clear in order to be eligible,” tweeted Archer.

On the other hand, Bradlee Anae has been a solid rotational pass-rusher for the Cowboys. With him out, perhaps Micah Parsons sees even more time at defensive end.

The Dallas Cowboys welcome the Philadelphia Eagles to AT&T Stadium on Monday night. Without two defensive players, we’ll see if they can slow down Nick Sirianni‘s offense.

Can the Cowboys continue to make the explosive play on offense? Through two games, the Cowboys have 35 plays of 10 or more yards, the third-most in the NFL.

However, the Eagles’ defense has not allowed many big plays in its first two games, with just 19 against going for 10 yards or more, which is the third-fewest,” wrote Todd Archer. “It’s also worth noting that Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has seven interceptions in eight games against the Eagles, his most against any opponent.”

The Cowboys enter the game with a top ten offense in both the run and the passing game. They’re ranked sixth passing the ball thanks to the return of Prescott.

In the run, they are up to seventh; despite all the commotion behind the lack of a rushing attack against the Buccaneers. The Eagles, on the other hand, have successfully defended the big play ability.

Their defense is ranked fourth in the NFL allowing just 283 yards per game. In the passing game is where their defense excelled, allowing 162.5 yards — good for third.
